If you can’t tell.. I was actually TERRIFIED in this photo, but I did it anyways, because I wanted to be braver for my kids. The funny thing is, I ended up loving where it took me. So now, I keep trying new things, even when they scare me. For a long time, I clung to beliefs that kept me safe: “I couldn’t possibly ski; I'm too tall to learn.” “I can’t go backpacking; I need a resort to relax.” “I can’t be a realtor; it’s too salesy.” But here’s what I’ve learned: Being “set in your ways” is often just a way of protecting your fears. Over time, I started doing the inner work. I questioned those beliefs. I let go of the stories that weren’t serving me. And little by little, I found joy in doing things I once told myself I couldn’t. Trying something new doesn’t mean you won’t fail. But it does mean you’ll grow. And sometimes, it leads you somewhere even better than you imagined. Life is meant to be lived. Fully, freely, and with a little more fun! So take the chance. Try the thing.
