Food waste is one of the things I’ve really been trying to reduce at home. Around 1.05 billion tonnes of food are wasted every year and food waste is responsible for 8–10% of global greenhouse gas emissions. It’s something I never really thought much about before, but those numbers are huge. That said… when you have kids, food scraps are pretty much unavoidable.. We already compost our raw fruit and veg scraps outside, but it takes months before the compost is ready and we can’t add cooked food because it attracts pests. So I started looking into countertop composters and realised that a lot of them aren’t actually composters at all - they just dry the food out. The Reencle Prime Food Waste Composter is different because it uses microbes to break food scraps down into compost that you can actually use in the garden very quickly afterwards I really like the idea of turning everyday food waste into something useful instead of putting it in the bin, especially now compost is so expensive to buy. I’ve been really happy with it, so if anyone’s been thinking about getting one, I’d definitely recommend it. Use my code RADASCOTT for 6% off. Link’s in my bio. 💚 ( AD) #foodwaste #composting #sustainableliving #gardening #reencle lowwasteliving ecohome
