***REGISTRATION REQUIRED** For many teens, a first paycheck can be both exciting and confusing. This workshop is designed to help young workers understand exactly what they are earning, why their take-home pay is often less than expected, and what all those deductions mean. Participants will learn how to read a pay stub, understand taxes and other withholdings, and answer common questions such as, “Where did my money go?” and “Why is my paycheck less than the amount I earned?” Ideal for ages 15 and older; this session will provide practical, real-world financial knowledge to help teens confidently navigate their first paycheck and begin building strong money management skills. Presented by Professor Michelle Toney of the Bay Area Financial Education Foundation. The event is free. To register, please email [email protected]. www.BAFEF.org

If you are 15 and older, with a strong focus on those employed in city-run programs like lifeguarding, and kid camps, you'll come away with a better understanding of your paycheck. Presented by Professor Michelle Toney of the Bay Area Financial Education Foundation. www.BAFEF.org In the Doña Benicia Room.
