Most coaches, trainers and physios think building an online program is complicated. It isn’t. Sure you have to put a bit of work in now, but the rewards down the line are worth it. Anyway, drop me a follow @davefeatherofficial for daily tips on adding online income alongside your face to face work as a coach, trainer or physio. Here is what it actually comes down to. Step 1. Choose your model. Pillar based or step based. Pillar based works best when your coaching is personal and flexible. Pick three to five core areas your client needs to work on to get their result. Step based works best when the process is linear. Your client does step one, then step two, then step three and arrives at the outcome. Pick the one that matches how your process actually works. Step 2. Build your program. The resources that sit around your core program and make the outcome feel more certain and easier to achieve. App, guides, templates, trackers, pre recorded videos etc. Aim for 3-5 additional resources that feel specifically built for your client. Step 3. Client support. How you actually coach your client throughout. One to one calls, messaging support, check ins, accountability. Enough support to get them a result without building something that burns you out to deliver. Step 4. Program length. Three to four months for most people starting out. Long enough for a real result. Short enough that it doesn’t feel like a big commitment on a sales call. Step 5. Set your price. Start at a minimum of £1 or $1k for a three to four month program. Online is not the cheap or discounted version of what you do face to face. It’s a specific, results based program that deserves a premium price. And if you only have a small following this makes it simple. Want to add 5k a month online? That’s just 5 clients. Compare that to a £/$50 program where you’d need to find, sell to and deliver to 100 people every single month. That’s the whole structure. The coaching online right now are not doing anything you are not capable of. They just have the right structure in place.
