Middle school is one of the most important — and most challenging — seasons of a child's life. At B'nai Shalom Day School, we don't just manage it. We honor it. Our Upper School (Grades 5–8) is built for the whole adolescent: academically ambitious, emotionally supported, and rooted in Jewish identity and leadership. Every student works above grade level in math. Small classes and differentiated instruction mean your child is challenged at their level — never lost in the crowd, never held back. In our state-of-the-art FabLab, students tackle real-world problems through coding, design, and prototyping. Student-chosen electives each trimester — from cooking to academic games to dance — keep curiosity and passion alive throughout the school year. But what truly sets B'nai Shalom apart is how deeply we invest in who your child is becoming. Social-emotional learning is embedded in daily life, with teachers trained weekly to meet the real, nuanced moments of adolescence — friendship pressures, identity formation, learning to lead. Upper School students lead t'fillah, Shabbat, and Havdalah services. They mentor preschoolers through our Buddies program. They don't just learn Jewish values — they live them.
