Ashoka University congratulates Sayali Pethe, a 3rd-year PhD student at Ashoka University, on receiving the Emotiv NeuroDiscovery Grant (2026), providing up to $5,000 in funding support. The grant has been awarded to Sayali and her supervisor, Supriya Ray, Associate Professor of Psychology, Ashoka University, for the project ‘Automated Early Prognosis of Dementia from Simultaneous Oculomotor, Pupillometric, and Electrophysiological Study.’ 'I’m very grateful for Professor Ray’s mentorship and the opportunity to work on this project. I am very excited to work on this idea, where we’re trying to bring together psychophysical and physiological signals that are usually studied in isolation, and use them collectively to predict the onset of dementia earlier, which could support better prevention and management.’ says Sayali. 'Our objective is to develop tools capable of predicting dementia risk from non-invasive biomarkers. By identifying these physiological indicators, we aim to provide clinicians with a critical window for intervention during the preclinical stage, well before the manifestation of clinical symptoms.’ says Professor Supriya Ray. #AshokaUniversity
