Relay For Life is a fundraising event where teams commit to walking, running, skipping, or hopping around a designated track to support their local Cancer Society. Team members take turns passing a baton, ensuring someone is always moving throughout the event. While track lengths and event durations may vary based on location, the dedication to the cause remains constant. Relay is a powerful way to whakanui (celebrate) people who have or have had cancer and the people who care for them; maumaharatia (remember) loved ones lost to cancer; and tū atu (fight back) by raising awareness and funds for the Cancer Society.
