He wore mouth tape from the age of 12. His dad and granddad were heavy snorers. Both ended up on CPAP machines. His mum stuck a strip of tape on his lips one night when he was 12. Fixed the snoring almost overnight. He never stopped. Then a few years ago he stumbled on something that changed everything. Many cheap mouth tapes are made with the same industrial adhesives used in packing tape and kinesiology tape. The same glue designed for cardboard boxes and knee joints. Sitting on people's lips for 8 hours every night. These cheap tapes adhesives are rarely tested, they could contain nasty chemicals. Your lips are some of the thinnest and most absorbent skin on your entire body. Whatever is in that adhesive has a direct pathway in. Every night. For 8 hours. And chemicals like PFAS are difficult for the body to clear. They accumulate over time. He went through every major mouth tape brand looking for testing results. Ingredient lists. Any proof that what they were selling was safe. Most had nothing. No testing. No transparency. Some said the formula was proprietary. So he built his own. 12 months. Over 40 iterations. Every adhesive variation. Every fabric blend. Most of them ended up in the bin. He partnered with an ISO-accredited third-party lab in the US and tested his adhesive down to parts per billion for PFAS, BPA and heavy metals. Non-detected across the board. And he published every single result publicly on the website for anyone to check. Investors laughed him out of the room. Told him to just white-label a cheap tape from China like everyone else. He walked out and never went back. Two years later, 100,000+ people sleep with Respire every single night.
