Fragrant Yame Origin: Yame, Fukuoka Cultivar: Yabukita It has sweet aroma with light roasted, nutty character, followed by lingering natural sweetness and low bitterness. I’d recommend this one if you love rich and nutty matcha lattes. 2. Chiran Harvest Origin: Chiran, Kagoshima Cultivar: Seimei This one is creamy and umami-forward with subtle hazelnut sweetness. It has smooth, clean finish with almost no bitterness. I think it’s especially lovely for traditional usucha or luxurious latte. 3. Barista Pro Blend Origin: Uji, Kyoto Cultivar: Yabukita The boldest and most robust of the three with earthy character, gentle umami and more pronounced bitterness. I’d go for this one when I want stronger matcha punch, unsweetened or lightly sweetened latte. After trying all three, Chiran Harvest became my personal favourite.
