They call it soft gold. Xiangyunsha (香云纱) is one of China's oldest silks, named to the national register of Intangible Cultural Heritage, and no machine can rush it. The cloth passes through dozens of steps by hand: dyed with wild yam, coated in river mud, cured under open sun. Sun, mud, and time do the work, and no two bolts are ever alike. Across it, bamboo is woven into the cloth itself, the ancient emblem of a spirit that bends in the storm and does not break. One cloth, one bag, one of one. A piece made to be kept.
