As many of you know, a massive storm swept through our area last night. We wanted to reach out personally to give you an update on Working Dogs For Vets HQ in Lawrenceburg, TN. The most important thing first: Our staff and all of our service dogs are safe. We are so incredibly grateful that despite the damage, our team and our service dogs partners are unharmed. The damage to our facility, however, is very significant. As you can see from photos, the wind was powerful enough to completely uproot trees, bending flag poles, and toss heavy equipment. What this means for now: Our 8,000 sq. ft. training center has major roof damage, trees have come down through several structures, and our fencing and trails are currently blocked or destroyed. Because the site isn't safe right now, we are hitting "pause" on our daily operations. We can't bring our veterans or our dogs back into these buildings until we’ve had them professionally inspected. We know you want to help—and we are so thankful for that. For right now, the best thing you can do is keep us in your thoughts and share this update. We are still in the middle of assessing everything. The property is currently a bit of a hazard zone with fallen trees and unstable roofs, so we ask that you please do not come to the site just yet. We want to keep everyone safe while we work on a plan to rebuild. We’ve dedicated our lives to helping veterans find their way through the storm—now we’re just navigating one of our own. We’ll be back soon, stronger than ever. HOW YOU CAN HELP RIGHT NOW: DONATE TO OUR FUNDRAISER: Every bit helps us start the long process of cleaning up and rebuilding. SHARE THIS POST: Awareness is crucial as we begin this journey toward recovery. STAY AWAY FROM THE SITE: The grounds are dangerous, with unstable buildings and hanging limbs. For the safety of everyone, please do not coordinate self-dispatch volunteer teams yet. MONITOR THIS PAGE: We will post updates as we navigate this situation and identify our most immediate needs. We are devastated, but we are determined. We will rebuild this haven for our disabled veterans and the incredible servicedogs who serve them. Thank you for your love, your prayers, and your support during this dark time. It means the world to us. #ServiceDogs #Veterans #DisasterRecovery #Lawrenceburg #Tennessee #WorkingDogsForVets #CommunitySupport
