1970, Detroit. George Clinton signs the same band to two record labels under two names. Parliament got the horns and the hooks. Funkadelic got the acid and the guitars. Bootsy Collins arrived from James Brown's band with the bass. Eddie Hazel recorded Maggot Brain in one take - Clinton told him to play like his mother had just died. We dug into it. The full piece is on the ROVR app - a new edition every Thursday, 8PM. - Follow for the deep cuts the algorithm won't show you.
