⚠️ PLEASE BE AWARE – MEDIA WALLS, FIREPLACES & STOVE INSTALLATIONS ⚠️ Over the past while, we’ve been called out to inspect and repair an increasing number of installations that, on the surface, looked “perfect” when first completed… But behind the finish — the reality is very different. • Burnt-out materials hidden behind plaster • Incorrect clearances around stoves and fires • Electrical cables poorly installed & unsafe . Extension leads used in hidden locations • Poor ventilation and heat management • Structural issues that only show over time • Damage already starting within months These are not small issues — they are serious safety risks. What’s most concerning is that many of these jobs were carried out by companies that some : ✔️ Have showrooms ✔️ Have strong social media ✔️ Look fully professional ✔️ Claim to be experienced and using qualified tradesmen !!! 💬 The truth is: A nice finish means nothing if what’s behind it is wrong and the companies are not answering the clients or returning to fix there work !!!! Media walls, fireplaces and stove installations are not just cosmetic features —they involve heat, electrics, airflow, and structural integrity. When done incorrectly, they can lead to long-term damage, invalid insurance, and in worst cases — fire hazards. 👉 What should you be asking before choosing a company? • Are they experienced specifically in fireplaces & stoves? • Do they understand heat clearances and regulations? • Are electrics installed safely ? • Will this still be safe in 5–10 years — not just look good today? • Will this company / person still be around to stand over their work? . Have they insurance and can they provide a copy ? . Can they show certs of qualified tradesmen ?? We’re not sharing this to criticise anyone it’s simply to make homeowners aware of what’s happening more and more in the industry. If you’re planning a media wall or fireplace installation, take your time, ask the right questions, and make sure it’s done properly from the inside out. Because once it’s closed up… you won’t see the problems until it’s too late. 📩 If anyone ever wants a second opinion or advice before going ahead, we’re always happy to help. #MediaWall #FireplaceSafety #StoveInstallation #HomeSafety #IrishHomes
