This is a true story about an 8-year-old and his grandma holding fast to the one thing they would never give up. In Communist China, freedom of belief is nonexistent. Many religious groups are persecuted, including underground Christians, Catholics, Uighur Muslims, Tibetan Buddhists, and Falun Gong practitioners. Falun Gong is a meditation practice based on the principles of Truth, Compassion, and Tolerance. Through practicing, Kenji's grandma regained her health and found a new spiritual perspective on life. Because she refused to renounce her faith, she was thrown into prison without trial twice and suffered torture.
