According to ancient Indian mythology, Hiranyakashipu, an asura king, sought revenge after his brother Hiranyaksha was killed by Vishnu in the Varaha form, and through severe penance he gained a boon from Brahma that made him nearly impossible to kill, as he could not die by man or beast. Believing himself invincible, he declared himself supreme and punished anyone who refused to worship him, including his own son Prahlad. But Prahlad remained loyal to Vishnu, and when Hiranyakashipu demanded to know where Vishnu was, he replied that he was everywhere, even in a pillar. Enraged, the king struck the pillar, and from it emerged Narasimha, a form that was neither man nor beast. In that moment, his protection failed and his reign came to an end. Was this the fall of a tyrant, or the moment every condition found its answer?
