There are several standout elements from the interior design plan Jesse developed for our Stone Ridge project in Greenwich, CT, and today I am sharing a few of my favourites in rendered form. Our client loves maximalist design, and while it is easy for this design approach to feel eclectic, it was our job to ensure that it felt elegant while creating an immersive environment in the context of each space. The most notable of these areas includes the kitchen and great room, where Jesse sought to create a light-filled, bright, and airy atmosphere. The glass orangerie-style roof installation is an intrinsically elegant design feature that heavily characterizes the room with grand charm, flooding the entire ground floor plan with the natural light it harnesses. This space leans into this sentiment further through the limewash textured walls, elegant archways, and light marble paired with rustic materials that have been refined to support the desired intention, including a rubble stone chimney and hood vent along with patinated steel base cabinetry. This combination creates the desired effect while still feeling warm despite the grand scale and light colour palette. The breakfast nook becomes a particularly impressive space because of this, with a floor-to-ceiling fireplace and corner windows that frame views of the pond and surrounding tree line. This area takes advantage of the landscape, treating it like a live art piece that changes during the fall, winter, and summer seasons. There is something so intentional yet distinct about the meeting of sleek window walls and rustic stone, creating a juxtaposition that makes you feel like you are protected from the outdoors by only a piece of glass despite the solidity and texture of the timeless stone next to it. The scale of these spaces is also worth noting, as the proportions naturally feel grand and highly intentional, further echoed when considering the height of the stone fireplace within this setting. #JesseSahlani #customhomedesign #interiordesign #landscapedesign #furnishings
