☀️☀️ Solar Installation Revisit ☀️☀️ We installed solar on this home in Blarney, Cork in June 2021, 3 years, 3 months ago. 18 solar PV panels were fitted across two sides of the slate roof of the home - South-East and South-West facing roofs. A hybrid solar inverter was installed to enable the easy future installation of battery storage, as well as a myenergi eddi solar immersion diverter to direct excess electricity that would otherwise be sent back to the grid to the heating of water with an immersion heater. This system has generated 19,720 units of electricity (kWh) since it was installed, exceeding the estimates for generated electricity that were made before installation. 56% of the electricity generated has been consumed in the home, while 44% has been exported to the grid. This system benefited from SEAI grant funding and is well on track to pay back its initial investment within 5.5 years of the original installation, with all electricity generated being effectively free after this point! Since this installation, Prosolar have completed over 450 solar installations in Ireland.
