Paying it Forward! When Peter called me to list his home, he had already talked to two other realtors and gotten their price suggestions. I had no idea what those prices were. It turns out, I came in right in the middle and had the best comps to back up my pricing. We went to work getting his home listed. Peter had built his home in 1988 and was now an emptynester, ready to downsize. He already had a fully furnished condo on the west side of the state and did not want much out of his home as far as furnishings, yard equipment and tools etc. He was hoping to just hand over the keys and walk away. I totally get how moving and purging feels so freeing but I wasn’t sure, the new buyers were going to like that. And to make things even better, Peter had meticulously taken care of not only his home but everything he had in the home. The inspection was spotless! Turns out, Connor and Melissa were first-time home buyers and had nothing in the way of furnishings and tools. They were so excited to start out life in their new home with a new mower, lots of tools, some furnishings, a generator and a hot tub. When we got to the closing table, we all expressed to Peter just how generous he was to leave all of those items to the new buyers. He just smiled and said “Someone helped me out a long time ago, so I’m paying it forward.” Oh how I wish all of my transactions could go that smoothly. #payingitforward #LivingstonCountyRealestate #realtorslife #PinkAgent
