You thought that English Lit. was just about writing poetry or memorising the Lit texts. No one warned you that your child could read the whole novel three times over, and still not know how to finish his essay. And certainly, no one warned you about the confusing poems he’d have to analyse. Nevermind write 2-page essays on them! It’s not true that your child is more wired for Math + Science than Humanities— no, no, no, please don’t pigeon-hole them that way. It’s about growing their maturity to analyse human emotions and characters. It’s about increasing their exposure (plus writing practices!) to a range of poems. With so little school curriculum time for English Lit., it’s no surprise that many crucial Lit skills tend to be under-developed. And when that happens, even short writing tasks can feel like pulling teeth. On this account, you’ll find practical tips, resources and affordable programs to help your child gain confidence in English Lit. 🌟Follow @literaturewithcheryl for English Lit. support to help your child score in Literature without burning out.
