We get a lot of questions from people who want to know what attending a midlife workshop at MEA is “really like.” They’ve heard the buzz – but they’re skeptical. Even though they’ve read that our curriculum is based on social science – and was developed in collaboration with leading academics from Stanford, Harvard, UC Berkeley, and Yale – they’re still uncertain. Is there too much “woo” involved? Will it actually help them deal with the real and pressing challenges they’ve been experiencing in midlife? We get it – if you’ve never been, it can be hard to wrap your head around. Which is why we were so thrilled to see this article that award-winning writer Tom Ford wrote for Texas Monthly magazine about his experience attending an MEA workshop in Santa Fe earlier this summer. Tom admits that he was skeptical about anything related to “self-help” and came to MEA partly because he wanted to challenge his prejudice. (AND because he legitimately wanted some guidance about some midlife challenges he was dealing with.) You can read the article he wrote about his experience here. If you’ve been wondering about what it’s like to attend an MEA workshop in person, we strongly encourage you to check it out! Especially if you’re a skeptic or wary of “woo.” Tom does an incredible job of bringing his experience to life and encapsulating the magic and authenticity of the MEA experience. (And what he says about our “resident yoga cowboy weirdo” Lee Johnson and his socks had our entire team in stitches for a week.) We hope you enjoy the article! And if you'd like to check out MEA for yourself, you can explore all of our upcoming workshops here. https://www.meawisdom.com/enroll/
