Nothing extraordinary should exist twice. For collectors who believe the art they live with should be as singular as the life they’ve built. Original paintings that represent our relationship with nature. I’m Paige Gray, a Canadian artist creating one-of-one original paintings inspired by the emotional experience of being in nature. My work begins in the wild, but rarely ends as a literal landscape. I’m interested in what happens beneath the surface. The enormity of standing beneath a forest canopy. The release of watching water move. The uneasiness of an approaching storm. The strange peace of realizing that nature will continue with or without us. I translate those experiences through movement, abstraction, colour and expressive mark-making into contemporary paintings that hold both the wildness of a landscape and something deeply human. Every original is singular. One canvas, painted by hand. One composition. One moment in my practice that will never be reproduced in exactly the same way again. For art collectors, interior designers and those curating considered private residences, executive offices, hospitality spaces and extraordinary interiors, these paintings are created to do more than coordinate with a room. They are created to hold it. To become the piece an interior is remembered by. To reward a closer look. And to mean something different ten years from now than it did the day you acquired it. My latest collection of original contemporary paintings is now available to collect, with complimentary shipping site-wide. If you have been searching for original Canadian art, contemporary abstract landscape painting, or a one-of-one work that carries the feeling of the natural world without simply depicting it, I invite you to explore the collection. Acquire the one that speaks to you. Once an original is collected, it is gone. https://paigegray.com/collections/original-works
