Just wrapped up the first fire fuels reduction project of the season. Started with forestry mulching and understory thinning, then finished things off by limbing the remaining trees, cleaning up dead/down material, and stacking larger logs and debris into burn piles. A few smaller trees that were too large for the mulcher got dropped as well. The goal was to reduce ladder fuels, thin out the overcrowded understory, and make the property easier to move through without clear-cutting the place. The homeowner was thrilled with the transformation, and one of the neighbors even came over to compliment the work — which was especially kind considering I spent two days dusting the whole neighborhood while running the mulcher. 😅 Also want to give a shoutout to Bigfoot Equipment Rental and Supply out of Prineville for the skid steer/mulcher combo and the great customer service. Much appreciated. 🤘🏻 Fire season is coming. Now’s the time to get ahead of it.
