A little over a year ago, I built this website. And then I sat on it. Not because I didn't care about it. Not because I wasn't excited about it. Because I was terrified. For over a year, I went back and forth about whether I should actually share it with the world. Whether I should stay hidden. Whether I should keep my stories, thoughts, questions, and experiences locked away where they felt safer. Years ago, I watched Brené Brown's Call to Courage. At the time, I nodded along. Now I understand it a little differently. Her message has always stayed with me: vulnerability takes courage. Because vulnerability sounds beautiful in theory. In reality, it feels a lot like staring at a "Publish" button for over a year while your brain invents seventeen thousand reasons not to press it. But eventually I realized that keeping my truths locked away wasn't helping me heal. So I pressed the button. Anonymous Shadows is a collection of stories, reflections, questions, lessons, and shadows. It's where I explore trauma, healing, identity, mental health, and the parts of ourselves we usually keep hidden. Not because I have the answers. Because I'm still searching for them too. If something here helps you feel a little less alone in your own darkness, then sharing it was worth it.. I'm not a therapist or a mental health professional. I'm just a human trying to make sense of her own shadows—and leaving the lantern on for anyone else walking through theirs. Anonymous Shadows is officially out in the world. So... here I am.
