Krishen Khanna | Symphony in Texture AstaGuru London is pleased to present Symphony in Texture, a selling exhibition of works by Krishen Khanna, one of the most distinguished figures of modern Indian art. Bringing together significant paintings from the artist's celebrated Bandwalla series, the exhibition offers insight into a practice defined by observation, empathy, and a profound engagement with the human condition. Across these works, Khanna returns to the recurring motif of wedding and funeral musicians, the quietly enduring bandwallas, who occupy a unique place within the social fabric. Rather than revisiting a familiar subject, each painting becomes a renewed exploration of character, memory, and collective experience. Featuring a selection of large-scale impasto compositions, the exhibition highlights the artist's remarkable command of texture, colour, and form while reflecting on themes of ceremony, passage, and the often-unnoticed figures who bear witness to life's defining moments. As part of the exhibition, AstaGuru London will host Krishen Khanna at 100: The Last Progressive, a conversation between Dr Zehra Jumabhoy and Kajoli Khanna on Tuesday, 16 June 2026. Doors open at 6:30 pm; Lecture to start at 7:00 pm. RSVP today to reserve your spot; spaces are limited: [email protected]. 📅 15 June - 10 July 2026 🕒 Monday - Friday: 10 am - 5 pm | Saturday: 11 am - 2 pm 📍 AstaGuru, 4 Cromwell Place, London, SW7 2JE
