Tea Towel Studio Session with Next State

Create your own custom printed tea towel with Next State, an Ethical Clothing Australia accredited digital textile printer, and go behind the scenes of local, on-demand manufacturing. Held as part of Ethical Clothing Australia Week 2026, this 90-minute workshop takes you from file to fabric. Submit your design in advance and the Next State team will help turn your artwork into a finished tea towel, printed and sewn in their Thornbury studio. During the session you will: * Discover the process of digital textile printing and custom manufacturing. * Learn how a file becomes fabric, and see the different outcomes that can be achieved. * Tour the textile print studio and watch your file printed using three different techniques. * View samples and get tips on preparing artwork for the best results. After the workshop, your printed design is sewn into a tea towel and posted out to you around one week later. You will walk away with expanded print and production knowledge, a finished tea towel and two other printed samples. Tickets are $39 per person, including tea towel production and delivery. Two sessions are running, at 11:00am on Friday 11 and Saturday 12 September, with just 16 places in each. Both sessions sold out last year, so book early to secure your place.
