👉🏻 SWIPE to travel back in time! 🏀 Some of you have heard this story and some of you haven't... for those of you that haven't, let me tell you about the exact moment I KNEW I leveled up as a competitor. I was 25 and playing professionally in Greece. We were playing against our cross-town rivals in Athens. With 30 seconds on the clock, we had the ball, and we were down by one point. My teammate drove down the middle and found me on the left hand side of the court. I took one dribble towards the middle, ready to shoot my favorite 10-foot jump shot. But somehow, despite doing this exact move a million times, the ball hit my foot. I lunged at it as it bounced to the legs of the opponent. And before I knew it, the other team had the ball and called a timeout. I was red with embarrassment and angry at myself. I thought, “What kind of professional player bounces the ball off her FOOT?!” But this was my test; the moment I had been training for. So I fought to return to the mental training I had worked so hard on. When the whistle blew, It was game on. I stole the ball and passed it down the court to my wide open teammate who scored an uncontested layup for the win. It's a pretty good story, huh? Here's the kicker. What I'm most proud of isn't my win, it's how I bounced back from my failure. That moment proved to me that all my hard work had paid off. Wanna know my secret? Here's what I did: 🌞 Meditation - I brought myself back to my breath to bring myself back into my body. I acknowledged my feelings and let go of the results. 👁 Visualization - I saw myself bouncing back from my mistake, imagined how it would feel to maintain composure, and visualized a positive result to get my mind ready for action. 🙏🏼 Mistake Ritual - A simple ritual with a visualization, affirmation, breath, and hand sign. It helped me 'mentally reset', bounce back mentally, and find strength in the middle of absolute embarrassment. (pssst - I teach the mistake ritual, comment if you want the link!) Ok, your turn - SHARE YOUR COMEBACK STORY!
