If you’ve been looking at your gas bills lately, you’ll notice that they just keep on rising. The bad news doesn’t stop there. Natural gas is a fossil fuel that is quickly running out (causing even higher prices), it’s bad for the environment and can release unhealthy emissions into your home. So if you’ve been looking at that old gas heater thinking it’s time for a change, we’re here to tell you that, yes, it is! A lot of Wellington homes are starting to make the shift away from gas and towards cleaner, more efficient electricity-based systems. That transition is called electrification. That’s where we come in. We can help you transition your home appliances away from gas, replacing them with electrical appliances. This can involve: - Replacing gas heating with efficient heat pumps or electric central heating systems - Switching from gas hot water systems to hot water heat pumps - Adding insulation and ventilation improvements so systems run efficiently - Installing EV chargers to help you move into electric transport The team at Sustainability Trust can provide a free assessment for any of the above services. We can help you figure out what to change now, what to plan for later, and what will actually make the biggest difference for your home. As a Wellington not-for-profit, our focus is on helping households make practical, informed energy decisions, not pushing upgrades you don’t need. If your home is still running on gas, take the next step towards your electrified future now. Click the button below to find out more.
