We recently showed how a drill rig simulator provides hands-on support for underground training at K+S. 🏆 💫 Another project demonstrates that simulation also offers significant potential for improving workplace safety. Award-winning! Our simulation training program for load-haul-dump (LHD) vehicles has won this year’s EUsalt Safety Award. 🕹️ In a realistic virtual environment, trainees and employees can learn how to operate LHD vehicles, gain experience, and practice handling critical situations. The simulation is based in part on actual 3D scans of our underground mine workings, as well as the controls and operating logic of the real vehicles. This helps build confidence and practical skills, enables knowledge transfer, and raises awareness of potential mistakes and hazards at an early stage—an important contribution to prevention and greater safety underground. 👏 And that wasn’t our only award: Our autonomous LHD operations project was also recognized at this year’s EUsalt conference, receiving the Innovation Award. ⚒️ Two awards, one shared goal: using new technologies to make mining at K+S safer and ready for the future.
