During Davos last week, WorldQuant and MIT sAIpien co-hosted an AI “moonshot” hackathon at Goals House that moved beyond panels to a live, two-hour “AI Jam.” Cross-disciplinary teams of leaders, researchers and emerging talent worked side by side to tackle real-world challenges across finance, healthcare, emerging markets and industry – going from problem to pitch in a single sprint. The results were concrete and ambitious and included the development of the following concepts: ◾The Knowledge Twin: A single, energy-efficient clinical AI model that enables community health workers to triage and diagnose common conditions with specialist-level support. ◾Virtual Factor Manager: An AI system that continuously monitors production lines, predicts maintenance needs, reallocates resources and feeds insights back into ERP systems. ◾Lifelong AI Support: AI that supports individuals over time, from adaptive, job-aligned learning pathways using employer-verified skills taxonomies, to a universal AI “financial life advisor” accessible from birth, guiding people to improve wellbeing and economic resilience. The hackathon underscored our shared belief with MIT sAIpien on how AI can augment human potential and act as a powerful equalizer – accelerating learning, unlocking innovation and fostering collaboration across sectors.
