Here's something many Vienna residents might not know about me. It’s a story that changed my life and is a big reason why I do what I do today. When I was in seventh grade, I woke up one morning after playing basketball with searing pain in my right hip, unable to put any weight on my leg. It felt like a hot poker was stabbing me, and I could barely limp out of bed. My mom rushed me to a chiropractor, and I had no idea what to expect. At a college event, specifically, a Biology Club party, Woo-Hoo… I met someone who was planning to go to chiropractic school, and he introduced me to four simple principles of chiropractic that clicked for me. He said: 1. The body is self-healing and self-regulating. 2. The nervous system controls everything. 3. If there’s interference in the nervous system, the body can’t function properly. 4. Chiropractors find the interference, adjust the cause, and allow the body to heal naturally, without drugs or surgery. I realized right then that this was what I was meant to do. Funny thing? That guy never even ended up going to chiropractic school—but here I am, living the profession he introduced me to.
