Each year, Jones-Onslow EMC sponsors high school students from our service area to take part in the Electric Cooperative Youth Tour in Washington, D.C. This isn’t just a trip; it’s a chance for students to step into history, discover their voice and begin shaping the legacy they’ll leave behind. Delegates selected from NC will join more than 1,800 students from across the country in Washington, D.C., June 14-20, 2026. Together, they’ll explore historic monuments and museums, meet with elected officials, and, most importantly, develop leadership skills, strengthen their resumes and form lasting connections with other young leaders from across America. All costs are covered by Jones-Onslow EMC. The program is coordinated and facilitated by North Carolina Electric Cooperative and the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA). Applications close February 28, 2026 and details can be found at https://joemc.com/newsroom/2025-youth-tour-application-2/. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to Krystal Phillips, JOEMC Communications and Public Relations Manager, at [email protected] or 9103-353-7821.
