Cracking A Knack for WAC (Written Analysis Composition) A 101 Journey Reflection: What Sources of Disagreements are the hardest to resolve in an organization? As an old school and I prefer to reflect in old teachings I would like to write my reflection analysis integrating lessons insight from the book of The Art of War and Navigating International Business Law in the perspective of Human Capital learning session on Session 15 and 16. As an entrepreneur, the interplay between strategic thinking and legal acumen is crucial in navigating the complexities of international business. Sun Tzu's *The Art of War* offers profound insights that resonate with my experiences in this arena. The principles of strategy, adaptability, and understanding the competitive landscape are foundational not only in military tactics but also in the business world. One of the most significant lessons I draw from Sun Tzu is the importance of preparation and knowledge. In international business, understanding the legal frameworks of different countries is akin to knowing the terrain before entering battle. Each market has its own regulations, cultural nuances, and competitive dynamics. By conducting thorough research and analysis-just as a general study of the battlefield-I can better position my organization for success. Moreover, adaptability is a recurring theme in Sun Tzu's teachings. The ability to pivot in response to changing market conditions or legal challenges is vital. For instance, when faced with a sudden regulatory change in a foreign market, being flexible enough to alter our business model or strategy can mean the difference between thriving and merely surviving. This adaptability also extends to fostering a culture of innovation within my organization, encouraging my team to think creatively and respond swiftly to challenges. A people-centric organization, in my view, prioritizes the well-being and development of its employees while fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment. This approach recognizes that the workforce is not just a resource to be managed but a vital component of the organization's success. By investing in employee growth, promoting work-life balance, and creating a culture of open communication, we empower our team members to contribute their best. This, in turn, drives innovation and enhances customer satisfaction, ultimately fostering loyalty and long-term success. In my organization, the hardest sources of disagreement often stem from cultural differences and varying interpretations of international laws. When operating across borders, diverse perspectives can lead to misunderstandings or conflicts regarding compliance and ethical practices. For instance, what is considered acceptable in one culture may be viewed as inappropriate in another. Navigating these differences requires not only a solid understanding of international business law but also cultural intelligence and sensitivity. Additionally, disagreements may arise from differing priorities between departments-such as between legal compliance and aggressive market expansion. Balancing the need for rapid growth with the imperative of adhering to legal standards can create tension. These conflicts are challenging but essential to address, as they reflect the organization's values and commitment to ethical practices. In my understanding, reflecting on the teachings of "The Art of War" alongside my experiences in international business law highlights the necessity of strategic thinking, adaptability, and a strong focus on people. Byfostering a people-centric organization and navigating the complexities of cross-cultural disagreements, we can position ourselves not just to compete but to lead in the global marketplace. The journey of an entrepreneur is fraught with challenges, but with the right principles guiding our actions, we can turn these challenges into opportunities for growth and success. ~ SmileNmileS, c'est la vie ©️✍🏼Ballestar Milagrosa Russelle for Human Capital Management Learning Session at Asian Institute of Management and A fellow - Foundation for Liberty and Prosperity https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/reflection-sources-disagreements-hardest-resolve-ballestar--swtdc
