Most people I see haven't come in with a fresh injury. They come in with something that's been there a while. A stiff neck that's been there for months. A lower back that flares up every few weeks. A shoulder that doesn't move quite like it used to. And almost all of them tell themselves the same thing — that it's manageable, that it's not bad enough to do anything about, that they'll deal with it when life slows down. Here's what I've learned: pain rarely shows up in isolation. By the time you feel something consistently, your body has usually been compensating for much longer. The neck is connected to how you sit. The back is connected to how you walk. The shoulder is connected to a hip that stopped moving properly years ago. So when someone comes in for a screening, I don't just look at the spot that hurts. I look at how the whole body moves. That's usually where the real picture lives.
