Ndutu gave me one of those rare, special moments: a lone female cheetah kept me and Humphure company for nearly half an hour, as she waited with us for the sun to go down. This is why I try to visit places off-season: the privilege of no one else around, no crowds, no noise, respect for the animal and the opportunity to really witness its behavior without external conditioning. Ndutu is normally visited during winter months, as wildlife has returned from their northern migration to Serengeti. During summer months very little people come here, as there are way less animals.
