Ad text
There's a three-step approach behind the way our clients run prop firm challenges, and none of it involves being at the charts. This is written for traders with at least a year in the markets who have capital set aside for the challenge accounts themselves, separate from the cost of any programme. If you're starting out, or you're after signals or a bot to buy, this won't be useful to you. Step one is to trade a portfolio of strategies rather than one. The average trader masters one or two setups on one or two instruments and then leans on them completely. Ray Dalio's argument in Principles is that holding fifteen or more genuinely uncorrelated return streams can cut your risk by roughly eighty percent without giving up return. Uncorrelated just means they don't all have a bad week at the same time. Step two is to stop putting everything into a single challenge. Most traders run one account, so one bad run against a drawdown rule ends the entire attempt. Four 25K accounts spread that risk in a way one 100K account can't. Step three is to automate the execution. Forbes puts the share of market orders now placed by algorithms at somewhere between sixty-five and eighty percent depending on the market. You used to need to code to compete with that. Now the software does the generating and the testing, and your job is knowing what to keep and what to throw away. The skill in this isn't algo trading. It's portfolio management. Click Learn More to watch a five-minute case study that breaks the process down.
