Nobody told me that learning to hear God in my business decisions would take my family from homeless to a $9M company in 3 yrs. I'll never forget that day in the parking lot. We were sitting in a 24-hour rented truck with all of our belongings, praying to Jesus to send us any help at all. We knocked on the doors of the university office where my husband was enrolled, hoping someone would open up and hear what had happened to us and offer us assistance. Their offices were closed. We knew no one, and we had nothing but GOD. And God literally sent a stranger. A woman who - and y'all need to get this - only stopped in that parking lot at that exact moment where we were praying for help, to throw out GARBAGE. She was on her way home and the Holy Spirit told her to go throw out her garbage in THAT garbage can. Which was how she heard our story. Which was how she told us to follow her home. MAN. When God decides to step into your story, He will do it however He chooses. This woman let our entire family sleep on her living room floor for two weeks. I didn't even know her name and she didn't know mine until after she got us settled in the house. I cry every time I think about her. Thank You Lord for Jolene And that's not even counting our family having to stay in a hotel on borrowed money. Or sleeping in one bedroom in a church aunty’s home. Or at my sister's place. Or my parents'. Seven moves in seven months - with a baby, a pregnancy, and no plan except to keep believing this could not be the end of our story… Only to lose our pregnancy after the seventh move. And still trusting that God did not bring us that far to leave us there. Here's what wrecks me when I look back at that season: The entire time we were moving from place to place sooo financially unstable - I was preaching on stages across the country. Leading worship. Teaching Bible studies. On fire for Jesus in every single room I walked into. My passion for God was never the problem. 𝐈 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐡𝐚𝐝 𝐧𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐝 𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐭𝐨 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐦𝐲 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐚𝐥 𝐝𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐦𝐲 𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐞. (I wish y’all would read that TWICE) I knew how to pray, fast, seek His face. 𝙄 𝙙𝙞𝙙 𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙠𝙣𝙤𝙬 𝙝𝙤𝙬 𝙩𝙤 𝙝𝙚𝙖𝙧 𝙃𝙞𝙨 𝙨𝙥𝙚𝙘𝙞𝙛𝙞𝙘 𝙞𝙣𝙨𝙩𝙧𝙪𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙢𝙤𝙫𝙚 𝙤𝙣 𝙞𝙩 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙘𝙤𝙣𝙛𝙞𝙙𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚 - 𝙞𝙣 𝙛𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙞𝙖𝙡 𝙤𝙧 𝙗𝙪𝙨𝙞𝙣𝙚𝙨𝙨 𝙙𝙚𝙘𝙞𝙨𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨.
