I was sitting on a plane the other day, a little bored (as you do). I don’t really have the attention span for movies, I’m one of those people who just Googles the plot and ending instead (don’t judge me 😂). So instead, I started deleting old photos. Then I came across these. The top photo stopped me in my tracks. There I was, pre-dawn, freezing, setting up a tiny market stall at Burleigh with a handful of products and a big, wobbly dream. I remember being tired. Cold. Wondering if anyone would even care about this brand I’d poured my heart into. That baby-faced girl? She was hopeful… but had no idea what was ahead. Fast forward to now. I’m writing this from our very own warehouse. A space we built, not overnight, but order by order, late night by late night, year by year. We went from markets to retail, and then back to where it feels most real: with you, our community. People often ask me why I left retail. The truth? The person I was in 2019 isn’t the person I am now. She was chasing big. I’m chasing meaning. In the last 6 years, so much changed. We lived through lockdowns. I went through a miscarriage days before the world went into lcokdown. I became a mum. Some team members left. The exonomy became a running comedy show. I found clarity. I grew up in the girl boss era. Hustle culture. Bigger, faster, more. Now? I want something different, and maybe you do too. Maybe you’ve changed, just like I have. The version of me who once dreamed of building a HUGE brand has evolved. Now, success looks like balance. Presence. Being part of my own life, not just watching it go by while I build a business. So thank you, for being here through the changes. For believing in RAWKANVAS. For letting us evolve and still choosing to be a part of our story.
