There’s a saying- “if you’re lucky enough to be in Montana, you’re lucky enough”. We took these photos just the other night- 2000 head of sheep draped in golden sun as they move up the mountains towards life-giving summer pasture. We’ve been in this same spot with 3-4 feet of drifting snow, with freezing sleet, with torrential rain. This day was the opposite- incredibly hot and dusty, but calm. As the sun began to set, everywhere you looked turned into gold. We won’t lie- we felt pretty blessed in this moment, and it reminded us that that feeling can be simple sometimes. For us, it’s not just about the life we’ve been given of stewarding these beautiful animals. It’s as simple as being in a place like this. It’s the company of a few good horses and some hardworking dogs. It’s watching the sun set across a mountain backdrop. It’s the feeling of the hot sun beating down on your skin. Grateful to be back in the high country. #DUCKWORTH
