There is a prophecy unfolding in the Middle East right now that almost no Christian is talking about. It centers on a river. The drying of the river is meant to prepare the way for the kings of the East, a vast army that will cross toward Israel for the final battle the Bible calls Armageddon. The battle where Jesus returns in power, defeats His enemies, and establishes His kingdom forever. In other words, in Revelation, the drying of the Euphrates is not a random detail. It is a sign. A door opening. The signal that the final movement of history has begun. And that is the river that scientists are now telling us is going dry. Here is where it gets even stranger. Photographs of the shrinking Euphrates have been circulating, including imagery from NASA. And some people have pointed out that one bend of the river, as it dries, appears to form the shape of the Greek letter omega. Omega is the last letter of the Greek alphabet. It is the word Jesus used to describe Himself in that very same book of Revelation. "I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End." The first letter and the last. A river named at the beginning of the Bible and the end of the Bible, drying into the shape of the last letter, the very title of the One who said He is the End. Is the omega shape a genuine sign or just a trick of the eye? That is exactly where honesty and humility have to enter. Because here is the part no responsible teacher will skip. We do not get to declare dates. Jesus Himself said that no one knows the day or the hour. Conversations like this one have to be approached with humility, asking for the Holy Spirit's guidance, not running ahead of Scripture to force a headline to fit a prophecy.
