How does a brand convince you that their earbuds sound good before you ever put them on? That’s what’s most interesting about the @go_noise Master Buds 2! A lot of the storytelling starts with the product design itself. The metallic detail on the case borrows cues from Vinyl records - an object our brains already associates with music. Before there’s any sound, the product has already started building an expectation around it. And thankfully, once I actually put them on, the sound backed that expectation up. The Bose-tuned audio sounds genuinely beautiful - It’s clean and immersive without feeling overdone. But as a designer, the bigger idea here is what stayed with me: We see products before we experience them. Which means industrial design, branding, materials and tiny visual cues aren’t just decoration. They create an expectation that the actual product then has to live up to.
