I'm just so proud and happy... My daughter (L) turns 3 tomorrow. Her grandma (my mother) convinced me to let her buy L a beta fish for her birthday. It came out to maybe $60 after everything from tank to food was purchased. (Husband and i decided to re-do her room to fit her likes and personaloty and make it her own rather than a party) Anyway. I was so skeptical. I know she's ahead and she's so smart but still this wouldn't be a pet she could touch or play with. And she sometimes is scared of animals anyway. Well. She surprised me. Every morning, after she's ready for school, she says good morning to him and turns on his light. She tells him she will be back later and that she is going to school. And I'm being literal, she says "Bye Oscar (name of fish, other story lol), I'll be back later ok? I'm going to school ok?" When i get home she says "MAMA! I'm going to eat. Oscar gets food too okay?" And she will feed him. She'll sit next to him and tell him all about her day. She'll let him know it's time to play and he can do whatever he wants to (play) At night, she'll go to his tank and say "it's time to go to sleep oscar see the sun went bye bye because it's time to sleep. See you tomorrow goodnight!" And then will turn off his light. I don't know if this is normal behaviour for a kid her age but I'm just in shock but so proud of her. She really cares for this fish and i hope to everything it doesn't die lol Id love to hear stories from other parents about a time your kid just left you in one of those "wow" shocks
