Ad text
AIK have dropped their latest special edition jersey, celebrating fans across the globe with a design that speaks to the club’s influence around the world. The Scandinavian powerhouse have mastered the art of kit drops in recent seasons, releasing highly-anticipated designs year on year that capture the spirit of AIK. Their newest collaboration with Nike and Swedish brand Stadium, however, speaks to both dedicated matchgoing fans and those that follow from overseas. The ‘Överallt Edition’ jersey pays tribute to the sea of black-and-yellow fans across Europe and beyond, highlighting AIK’s presence as a fashion-forward global leader. ‘Överallt’, translating literally to ‘everywhere’, stems directly from the mindset of supporters and reflects the growing number of AIK fans located around the world - discovering the club thanks to their position at the forefront of football culture. With inspiration borrowed from AIK’s first club colours on record dating back to 1896, the jersey features Nike’s iconic golden swoosh on a deep blue backdrop. The club’s original crest also features on the front of the shirt – hand drawn by the club’s first-ever Vice Chairman – and its founding year ‘1891’ is stitched below the badge design. The jersey’s most iconic feature comes at the top of the shirt, with a vintage lace-up collar paying homage to the design worn during AIK’s unforgettable Champions League campaign of 1999. The eyelets that line the collar are adorned with ‘Allmänna Idrottsklubben’, with AIK engraved onto the tips of the laces. The new shirt will first be sold to club members before a limited quantity go on sale via Pro:Direct. All proceeds will go directly to Stadium Sports Camp, a non-profit organisation dedicated to keeping children active and providing them with opportunities to engage in sport.
