Here are some relatively easy things to do to make a healthy "shell" for you (and your family or pet). Most of these are low or no-cost switches. Mattresses and bedding I recognize as costly - do when you can, and prioritize your kid's if you make a switch. Also, with furniture / home goods - when in doubt, ask! It took Restoration Hardware two weeks to get back to me about flame retardants in the Cloud Couch, but they finally did. Home goods don't come with an ingredient list, but that doesn't mean you should overlook it (though it's pretty lame as consumers need to ask). Full-building water filters are a great thing, too. I live in an apartment building, and I can't even get an answer from my property manager about installing one (despite having a brand, quote, etc). Instead, I filter my tap and my son's tub. We live in NYC so the water is relatively good. I wish we had a better option, though. High-level, I don't have specific product recs here, I have some on my page if you need. Let me know what you want to see. But for real, so many things are low-cost and just behavioral. On my community suggestion, we decided we're just going to host a standing date with friends from 3-6 every Sunday. The first one is today. I have no idea who will show up, but it's nice to know we have this - in the words of Kate from White Lotus, "you can't build friendship with two dinners a year." 😂
