From 20 February 2026, new safety duties apply to anyone providing community or courtesy transport, even if you’re exempt from holding Operator Accreditation. This includes: 🏨 Hotel transfers 👶Childcare pick/up drop off services 🎯 RSL and sporting club vans 🚌 Other courtesy shuttles 👩‍⚕️ NDIS services Under the new safety management framework, you’ll need documented Safety Management Plans detailing your actions to deliver safe services, including to: ✅ Maintain vehicles ✅ Monitor drivers ✅ Train staff ✅ Manage risks 📋 You have 6 months to develop and implement your Safety Management Plan. The new laws ensure public passenger services consistently meet people’s expectations regarding safety.
