How we count

Let's talk about value. Because I think you deserve to know exactly what you're getting before you decide. When I priced The Sourdough Playbook bundle at $19 for launch, a few people asked me why. Some thought it was too low. One person actually messaged me to say they almost didn't buy it because they assumed something priced that low couldn't be very good. So I want to address that directly. And I also want to give anyone who is still on the fence a proper look at what exists out there, what it costs, and how this compares. Not to put anyone down, because there are genuinely good products in this space. But because I think transparency is more useful than a sales pitch. ••• Here is what else is out there. Most sourdough digital guides on the market fall into one of three categories. The first category is the short starter ebook guides. These are typically 20 to 35 pages, priced between $4.99 and $14.99, and they cover the basics of creating a starter, a few recipes, and a glossary of terms. They are good for someone who wants a quick reference. They are not built for someone who wants to truly understand sourdough from the ground up. The second category is the recipe-first ebooks, priced between $14.99 and $19.99. These are collections of sourdough recipes, sometimes with technique notes attached. The focus is on what to make, not on why the dough behaves the way it does, or how to fix it when something goes wrong. If you follow the recipe in the right conditions, it works. If something is off, you're on your own. The third category is the deeper, education-first guides. These are fewer, they are longer, and they are priced higher, usually $25 and above. The best one I came across during my research is an award-winning 140-page troubleshooting guide that focuses specifically on why sourdough goes flat and how to fix it. It is a good product. But it covers one problem area deeply, not the full journey. None of the guides I found include a calculator. ••• On the calculator side, the most comparable product I could find is a subscription-based toolkit that gives you access to 7 online calculators. You pay for it every year. The annual fee works out to around $15 USD, recurring. You do not own it. You cannot use it offline. And it does not come with any guide. The Baker's Math Calculator inside The Sourdough Playbook bundle has 9 tools. You own it permanently, both as a live web calculator that works on any device, and as an Excel file for offline use. No subscription. No renewal. No login expiry. Yours to keep. ••• So here is what the $19 launch price is actually buying you. A 152-page comprehensive sourdough PDF guide that covers the full journey, starter to first loaf, written in plain language and structured progressively. Topics I have never posted about publicly. Charts built specifically for this guide that do not exist anywhere on this page. Troubleshooting tools. Quick-reference material you will reach for every time you bake, not just when you are learning. And bundled with it, a baker's math calculator suite that, to the best of my knowledge, does not exist in this form anywhere else built specifically for home sourdough bakers. Nine tools. One-time purchase. Online and offline. In the same price range as a short recipe ebook. Less than the annual subscription for a calculator-only toolkit that you do not own. That is the honest picture. ••• Now, to everyone who has already purchased. Thank you. I mean that genuinely. You moved on trust, and that is not something I take lightly. I would love to hear from you. Not a formal review. Just your honest experience so far. What you found useful. What surprised you. What you are still working through. Drop it in the comments below, and if you are willing to share a photo of your bake alongside it, even better. Your feedback helps the next person make a confident decision. And it helps me understand where to go from here. ••• The launch price of $19 is available for a limited time. After the launch window closes, the price moves to $27, which is where it will stay. The link is in my bio and in the comments below. As always, I hope it helps someone. ~ Neme's Kitchen ••• [Posting again for those who just joined us]
