Hey, everyone! I don't even know how to start this post without crying. 2 weeks ago, Bruno couldn't move his back legs. The emergency vet said we had maybe 48 hours to decide on surgery or he might never walk again. I was absolutely devastated. I posted here asking for advice and SO many of you recommended red light therapy. I'll be honest - I thought it sounded like pseudoscience. But multiple people said their Frenchies regained mobility with it, so I ordered one that same night. We've been doing strict crate rest + 15-minute red light sessions twice a day for 2 weeks. Yesterday was his vet recheck and I'm still in shock. Even though we just saw the vet yesterday, he's ALREADY doing SO SO much better!! Big milestones: Shaking his whole body Squatting how he used to to potty Stand by himself Walk by himself Way more alert and more "himself" The vet told us that whatever we're doing at home is working - his inflammation is way down and his deep pain response is back. She said we should let him walk more and more each day at Bruno's own pace on rough flooring (grass or carpet). She actually asked what device we were using because she wants to recommend it to other IVDD cases! I've already seen such a huge improvement 🥹 (He's still on crate rest, and we definitely do not let him walk up or down stairs!) To everyone who liked or commented recommending red light therapy, thank you. I was so skeptical at first but decided to try it because I was desperate and couldn't afford the $8,000 surgery. Those good vibes and recommendations definitely played a huge role in his success story. He still has a way to go, but I feel like I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel. He's back to being my full of life, snorty, cuddly boy. Attachments: Video: This is a video of him walking earlier in the day during a potty break. It may seem wobbly or uncoordinated to some, but to me, this is a success. He's way less wobbly than he was, and he can actually take steps without tumbling over.
