Caption: Position 05: Spider Guard. Distance + sweeps + triangles in one position. Codified by Romulo Barral — 4× IBJJF world champion. Spider guard dominates gi competition brackets from featherweight through medium heavyweight. If you compete gi, you must have answers for playing AND defending it. ↳ Deep cuff grip on both sleeves, thumbs inside ↳ Both feet on their biceps, pressing up and out ↳ Angle off constantly — spider from underneath = smashed ↳ White-belt trap: static spider gets stacked. Constant hip movement. Spider guard: your favorite sweep? Drop it in the comments 👇 Save for open mat. Tag a training partner without a spider game. @romulobarral cobrinhabjj @ibjjf @ujitsu.app #BJJ #jiujitsu #spiderguard #gi #bjjguard #romulobarral #cobrinha #bjjfundamentals #bluebelt #purplebelt #brownbelt #ibjjf #bjjworlds #bjjsweep #bjjtechnique #jiujitsulife #bjjcommunity #osss #bjjeducation #bjjcompetition
