Teachers! Students will love this fun geography project that asks them to use map skills and their knowledge of geography to decide where to resettle after a zombie outbreak. The project is set up with a short introduction video and a letter announcing the outbreak from government agencies. Students will work together or individually to decide which factors (access to fresh water, climate, etc.) are most important for choosing a new resettlement location. They'll use some of the 29 included maps showing a variety of data (climate, elevation, population density, etc.) to choose a location where they think they can survive for 50 years. They'll justify their choice as they answer questions about their location. Next, they'll design a backpack foldable with a brochure that highlights the benefits of their chosen location to encourage other students to settle in their area. How It Works: • Introduce the activity with a short video & a zombie outbreak notice from government agencies • Discuss which factors (fresh water, elevation, etc.) will be important when finding a resettlement location • Students use tips, guiding questions, and their knowledge of geography as they analyze a variety of maps to find a location where they can survive • Students answer questions about their chosen location • Students create a backpack foldable highlighting the benefits of their chosen resettlement location What's Included: 1.
