During my visit to the 42nd edition of Art Brussels at Brussels Expo, together with Egzon, it became clear once again why Art Brussels has established itself as one of Europe’s leading contemporary art fairs. The redesigned layout created a calm and intuitive visitor experience, while the monumental Art Deco halls provided the artworks with the space they deserved. What impressed me most was not only the quality of the gallery selection, but also the natural dialogue between established galleries, emerging artists, and international collectors. Art Brussels feels less like a conventional art fair and more like a meeting place where art, culture, craftsmanship, and collecting come together in a meaningful way. Equally striking was the level of public interest. Welcoming nearly 26,000 visitors in just four days, the fair demonstrated that contemporary art continues to engage a broad international audience. The presence of renowned galleries such as Lisson Gallery and Hauser & Wirth further reflects the reputation Art Brussels has built over the years. What I take away from every visit is the realization that an art fair reveals far more than the artworks themselves. It offers a glimpse into the relationship between artists, galleries, collectors, and the art market. Not every work resonated with me, and that is exactly as it should be. Those differences are what make an art fair worth visiting. At the same time, I found myself looking not only at the works, but also at the decisions, vision, and context behind them. That subtle tension between artistic conviction and commercial reality made the experience all the more compelling. I left Art Brussels with fresh perspectives and, above all, with a deep respect for the artists, galleries, and everyone whose dedication continues to shape the world of contemporary art. I am already looking forward to returning for the next edition in April 2027. @artbrussels 42nd Edition 23–26 April 2026 #CollectorsNeedle #RichardBelgium #ArtCollector #ContemporaryArt #ContemporaryCollector
