VERY #LENGTHY #TEACHING Last week, Ruach HaKodesh said, "Steven, remind everyone that regardless of their Titles, they are #ALWAYS called to be #DISCIPLES of Yeshua HaMashiach!" The 4th Day Lesson: What Does a Disciple of Christ Look Like in 2026 and Beyond? A disciple is more than someone who gathers information — a disciple is a learner and follower who continually becomes more like Jesus. The central question: "Have I become more like Jesus this year than I was last year?" The Central Answer A disciple of Christ in 2026 continually follows Yeshua, remains in His Word, obeys His teachings, yields to the Holy Spirit, loves others, bears spiritual fruit, accepts correction, denies self, carries the cross, and helps others become disciples. #Culture and #technology may change — the marks of discipleship do not. Jesus still says: "Follow Me." 1. A Disciple Continues in the Word of Christ ● A disciple doesn't just own a Bible — they let Scripture continually reshape their mind, conduct, and priorities (John 8:31–32). 2. A Disciple Obeys What Jesus Teaches ● Knowledge without obedience is information without transformation. Love for Christ is shown through obedience (John 14:15; Matt. 7:24). 3. A Disciple Is Becoming More Like the Teacher ● Discipleship isn't just learning about Jesus — it's increasingly resembling His character: more loving, humble, truthful, and surrendered (Luke 6:40). 4. A Disciple Denies Self and Carries the Cross ● Following Jesus means surrendering the right to rule one's own life — denying self, taking up the cross daily (Luke 9:23). 5. A Disciple Bears Spiritual Fruit ● Gifts show what the Spirit enables us to do; fruit shows what the Spirit is producing in us — love, patience, gentleness, self-control (John 15:8; Gal. 5:22–23). 6. A Disciple Loves Other Believers ● Jesus said the world would know His disciples by their love — not by title, ministry size, or following (John 13:34–35). 7. A Disciple Remains Teachable ● A true disciple never outgrows correction, no matter their age, experience, or authority (Prov. 9:9). 8. A Disciple Maintains a Private Life With God ● Public ministry can't replace private devotion; some things must stay in the secret place, unseen by any audience (Luke 5:16; Matt. 6:6). 9. A Disciple Is Led by the Holy Spirit ● Discipleship isn't willpower alone — it means learning to discern the Spirit's leading over flesh, fear, or ambition (John 16:13; Rom. 8:14). 10. A Disciple Repents When Corrected ● A disciple isn't someone who never fails, but someone who responds rightly to failure — like Peter, not Judas (1 John 1:9). 11. A Disciple Is Faithful When Following Jesus Is Costly ● The real test of discipleship is following Jesus when obedience costs something, not just when it brings applause (John 15:18). 12. A Disciple Serves Rather Than Seeks Status ● Jesus came to serve, not be served — a disciple asks "Whom can I serve?" instead of seeking recognition (Mark 10:45). 13. A Disciple Makes Other Disciples ● Discipleship means helping others grow in Scripture, prayer, obedience, and character — not just gathering an audience (Matt. 28:19–20). 14. A Disciple Does Not Allow Social Media to Replace Spiritual Formation ● Social media can spread a message but can't produce spiritual maturity — Christ, not the platform, must remain the foundation. 15. A Disciple's Private Character Supports Public Ministry ● A disciple's public profession and private conduct should increasingly match — family, coworkers, and even enemies should see it. What Does a Disciple Look Like in 2026? A disciple may carry a smartphone, use social media, lead a ministry, or serve quietly in a village — anywhere in the world. But wherever they live, the biblical marks remain the same: following Yeshua, obeying His Word, yielding to the Spirit, denying self, bearing fruit, loving others, staying teachable, repenting when corrected, keeping a secret life with God, serving humbly, enduring hardship, and helping others become disciples. Church Attendee vs. Disciple ● A church attendee may listen; a disciple obeys. ● A church attendee may admire Jesus; a disciple follows Jesus. ● A church attendee may enjoy inspiration; a disciple accepts transformation. ● A church attendee may fit Christ into their life; a disciple surrenders their whole life to Christ. ***My Personal Declaration "I am a disciple of Yeshua HaMashiach. I am still learning, still growing, still being corrected and transformed. I will remain in His Word, obey His voice, yield to the Holy Spirit, deny myself, carry my cross, and follow Him. My title will never outweigh my relationship with Christ." ****Closing Exhortation A disciple in 2026 isn't someone who knows Christian language — it's someone whose life is being changed by the One they follow. The real question isn't how long we've attended church or how many people follow our page. It's: Am I still following Yeshua — more loving, more obedient, more humble, more like Him? #Ministry describes what we do; #discipleship reveals who we are. Until we see Yeshua face to face, His invitation remains: "Follow Me."
